Leader in
Handler Design
Permanent 4WD hydrostatic transmissions are used on all Merlo telehandlers. That means precise and easy driving, with instant braking when the accelerator is released – and from up to 40
kph.
Merlo pioneered the side engine telehandler and still has the reputation of having the best operator visibility in the game.
More information on the full range of Roto (Merlo also pioneered the slewing handler), Compact or Panoramic handlers for construction or Turbofarmer and Multifarmer for agriculture is available on the website.

Merlo invented the side-engine telehandler in 1987. Today, the Panoramic series stretches from 6m lift to 18m, with capacities from 2.8 tonne to 10 tonne. The many features may include:-
- Permanent 4WD hydrostatic drive
simplicity and precision
- Built-in sideshift on many models
- Chassis levelling and stabilisers on many models
- Load-sensing hydraulics
- Legendary Merlo cab visibility
- ‘Ring of Steel’ protection around the machine

Merlo was also first to introduce a rotary telehandler in 1991, opening up the third dimension of 360 degree slewing. The telehandler became a truly multi-purpose tool, able to combine many of the functions of forklift, platform and crane. Today, twelve Roto models include the ‘classic’ Roto with 415 degrees of slew, lifting to 16m, and the continuous-slew digitally-controlled MCSS series lifting to 25m.
- Permanent 4WD hydrostatic drive simplicity and
precision
- Choice of continuous or fixed slew models
- Load-sensing hydraulic systems
- Merlin Continuous Slew Safety models with full
digital control
- Intelligent lifting attachments
- Range of work platforms all EN280-compliant
